This year the Guardian Pharmacy Corporate Support Team in Atlanta launched the first of many ‘Guardian Gives Back’ days. Volunteering for three different organizations on three different days in September, this new internal program aligns with our core values and brings us together with a common interest – giving back.

Of the three organizations, one was Junior Achievement of Georgia, a not-for-profit whose purpose is to inspire young people to succeed in a global economy by teaching students about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness.

Guardian volunteers coached seventh grade students as they were each given a life scenario and had to create a budget for real life expenses based on their situation. The students made decisions for their household such as buying a home versus renting an apartment and how much to spend on groceries. We helped guide them through the exercise, answered questions, and coached them on the impact of the decisions they were making. At the end of the exercise, students evaluated how much of their budget they spent, giving them a better understanding of the expenses that come with being an adult and the importance of an education and managing finances.

Guardian Gives Back is a great opportunity for our teams to volunteer with important organizations in the community and we can’t wait to do it again next year!

Thank you to all of the organizations for your hospitality and allowing us to give back to our community in a number of ways!
