Industry-Unique Customer Service Model Ensures Quality Care for Indiana Residents

Indianapolis, Ind. – September 25, 2012

Guardian Pharmacy, LLC, one of the largest long-term care pharmacy companies in the U.S., in partnership with Zionsville residents Steve Piepenbrink and Brian Hardesty, announced the opening of Guardian Pharmacy of Indiana. The partnership also includes the acquisition of Senior Care Pharmacy of Indiana. The new pharmacy serves residents of long-term care and group homes, assisted living and skilled nursing communities throughout Indiana.

According to Steve Piepenbrink, co-owner and president, “Within Indiana’s long-term care market, we felt there was a need for a pharmacy that combined the best of local ownership – unparalleled customer service, local decision-making and individually tailored services – with the benefits and resources of a larger company. Guardian Pharmacy’s corporate philosophy and business model were the perfect fit.”

“From the beginning our goals were aligned with Brian and Steve’s,” said Kendall Forbes, executive vice president of operations and co-founder of Guardian Pharmacy, LLC. “Our corporate team assists with the time consuming day-to-day business operations from payroll to rebate management, IT and the intensely complex revenue cycle so that the local owners can focus on what they do best – ensuring that their communities and residents receive the best care possible.”

Based in Indianapolis, the 5,000 sq. ft. pharmacy opened with 13 employees including positions for the expert staff from Senior Care. Piepenbrink expects to grow this number throughout 2013.

In Indiana, there are currently well over 600 long-term care homes serving more than 60,000 residents.

Guardian Pharmacy, LLC has a reputation for superior customer attention, rapid response to client needs and continuous 24/7 service. The company completed a record-breaking 2011 adding five new pharmacies and boosting revenue 35 percent over 2010. The combined Guardian entity now serves more than 42,000 long-term care patients nationally through 20 pharmacies across 11 states.
