ATLANTA – July 13, 2011

Guardian Pharmacy, LLC, one of the largest institutional pharmacy companies in the U.S., in partnership with industry veteran Robert Dunn announced the opening of Guardian Pharmacy of Northwest Florida located in Crestview, Florida. This strategic expansion completes the company’s Florida footprint enabling Guardian and its partner pharmacies to seamlessly serve the needs of specialty patients in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, behavioral health group homes, Hospice and correctional institutions throughout the entire state.

Guardian pharmacies serve more than 35,000 patients nationally including more than 7,000 patients in 235 long-term care homes in Florida. Pharmacies in the state are located in Daytona, Jacksonville, Pompano Beach, Tampa and now, Crestview.

Within the long-term care industry, Guardian has earned a reputation for superior customer attention, rapid response to client needs and continuous 24/7 service.

According to Robert Dunn, president of Guardian Pharmacy of Northwest Florida, “I was attracted to the company’s reputation and the unique Guardian business model. Each partner pharmacy operates as an independent local business allowing for quick decision-making and flexibility. As an owner, I have a vested interest in everything that happens in my pharmacy which translates into better care for our clients, and I like that.”

Fred Burke, CEO and co-founder of Guardian Pharmacy, agrees. “The partners maintain a significant ownership stake which creates a highly motivated, integrated team working to achieve a common objective: superior customer service. Because Guardian provides a Corporate Support Center that assists with the day-to-day business operations like the intensely complex revenue cycle that is so time-consuming, pharmacy operators can focus on our clients and their residents.”
